Portrait Session Information

Look Your Best!

Memorable portraits take careful planning.  The clothing you choose is key to the successful look of the picture.  Call the studio to discuss all the do’s and don’ts which help make a portrait the best it can be.

The goal for any fine portrait is to direct the attention to the face(s) in the photographs.  In general, the subject(s) should avoid the following:

For individuals:

 - colors that distract from the background
 - large, flashy jewelry
 - bright, busy prints
 - sleeveless tops and/or short, straight skirts;
 - multiple, high contrast colors.
 - dress for the session from head to toe.
 - darker clothes and V-neck tops are slenderizing.

 - Long or ¾ length sleeves photograph nicer and are slenderizing.

For couples and groups:

 - many colors, and/or a contrasting mixture between dark and light tones, make it  more difficult to find the faces in the photograph.
